Volvo Genuine Service is the key to maintaining the value of your Volvo.

Therefore, we have compiled service interval schedules to make it easy to understand when your Volvo should be serviced and what services are appropriate at various mileage increments, according to Volvo factory specifications.

In an easy-to-follow format, we have listed each of the key safety and operational services performed, as well as identifyied the value added services provided at each scheduled mileage interval.

Roadside Assistance

Among the many useful standard features that come with your Volvo, one of the most helpful may be Volvo On Call® Roadside Assistance. Volvo developed On Call Roadside Assistance for its customers because Volvo cares and believes Volvo owners deserve the highest form of motoring protection available today.

Your initial On Call membership begins when you receive your new Volvo and lasts for four years complimentary. Plus, it's renewable, so you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Volvo On Call simply by paying a small annual fee through the On Call AdvantageSM* Program.

On Call includes such services as:

? 24-hour roadside assistance
? Towing to your nearest Volvo retailer
? Computerized trip routing/map service
? Lockout assistance
? Trip interruption expense benefits
? Car rental discounts
? Jump-starting, winching, changing a flat or emergency gasoline delivery
? Volvo retailer locator
? Car theft protection reward
? Questions and answers
How On Call Works
On Call operates through a network of contracted (authorized) servicers. You will find that using Volvo On Call's service will result in minimal out-of-pocket expense.

Who is an Authorized Servicer?
Volvo On Call service is provided through independent and licensed towers, throughout the United States.

Non-Authorized Servicers
Volvo On Call is designed to render service only through our 1-800-638-6586 number. We provide you with emergency road and towing service to get you going again. If that's not possible, we will get your Volvo to the nearest Volvo authorized repair facility. If during severe weather conditions you experience difficulty getting through to our 1-800-638-6586 number, we ask for your patience. If we are unable to provide service, we will give you authorization to seek help outside.

Special Equipment
We pay for one normally equipped service vehicle and one driver. Circumstances may dictate the use of special equipment. On Call is designed to pay for these costs provided that the plan members call 1-800-638-6586. Failure to do so will result in non-reimbursed expenses.

Extreme Weather
When weather or road conditions are extremely bad, we ask for your patience. Our 1-800-638-6586 service is designed to render prompt and courteous service. Emergency situations, where the motorist is stranded, naturally take priority over disablements when the motorist is in the protection of a home or office. And in rare instances we may request that you locate service through the Yellow Pages, pay for the service, and forward your paid receipt for reimbursement up to a maximum of $100.00 per disablement.

What the Coverage Does Not Include
The purpose of the Emergency Road and Towing Service is to provide service in common emergency situations. An emergency situation does not include:

? Repeated service calls for a car in need of routine maintenance
? Shoveling snow from around a vehicle
? Installation or removal of chains or snow tires
? Vehicle storage charges, costs of parts and installation, products, materials, impounding and additional labor related to towing

Volvo Increased Protection (VIP) Plans

When you buy a Volvo, you want to be able to drive it for years without worrying about repair bills.  With Volvo Increased Protection (VIP) plans you can extend the peace of mind of your standard warranty.  There are two levels of coverage available to choose from and both are designed to provide you with the support you need to get the most out of your Volvo ownership.

TOTALCARE® PLAN
Your TotalCare® Plan is designed to protect you against defects in materials and workmanship on just about every component of your vehicle. The TotalCare® Plan also includes towing through On Call and offers rental car coverage of $50 per day for up to six days on covered repairs. And, the plan is transferable to the subsequent owner when you are ready for your next Volvo.

Covers hundreds of major components, including sophisticated components such as the antilock brake module and sensors, radio and speakers, automatic temperature control, load leveling suspension system, and speed control.

Your TotalCare® Plan is designed to protect you against defects in materials and workmanship on just about every component of your vehicle. In fact, because so many parts and accessories are covered, it is easier to mention the items that are NOT covered.

VIP Comprehensive Plan Exceptions*

1. Mechanical: Adjustments and Cleaning, Battery and Cables, Belts and Hoses, Brakes (Front and Rear Discs and Pads, Hubs and Parking Brake Linings), Exhaust Systems (including Catalytic Converter), Filters, Fluids (except in conjunction with a covered repair), Lights (Bulbs, Sealed Beam and Lenses), Lubricants, Manual Clutch Assembly, Shock Absorbers, Spark Plugs and Wires, Squeaks and Rattles, Tires, Tune-up, Wheel Balance and Alignment, Wiper Blades, Coolant and Wheel Studs
2. Exterior: Adjustments (Glass and Body Parts), Bright Metal, Bumpers, Glass, Moldings, Paint, Rust, Sheet Metal, Side View Mirror(s) (Glass and Housing), Water Leaks, Wheel Covers and Ornaments, Wind Noise, Weatherstrips, Door Handles, Wheels and Outside Ornamentation

3. Interior: Carpet, Rearview Mirror (Glass and Housing), Trim, Upholstery, Door and Window Handles, Dash Pad, Knobs, Clock, Buttons and Safety Restraint Systems

STATED COMPONENT PLAN
Enrolling in the VIP Stated Component Plan means you're covered against defects in materials and workmanship on many major vehicle components. You also have a choice of deductible options, from $0 to $200, to meet your budget.

VIP Stated Component Plan coverage includes towing through On Call and rental car coverage of $50 per day for up to six days on covered repairs. In addition, the VIP Stated Component Plan is transferable to the subsequent owner when you are ready for your next Volvo.

VIP Stated Component Coverage Plan coverage includes major components of the engine, transmission, front suspension, drive components, brakes, air conditioning, steering system and electrical system.
